Happy Fathers Day to all the amazing dads out there! The only bond I can speak to, is the bond between a daughter and her father and how special that is. I admire my immigrant father who left everything and came to America to make a better life for himself and his family. And my husband, who is wrapped around my daughters finger - who is so in love with his girl - I am lucky to have you as my partner for this crazy parenting ride. No matter what your family situation is like, whoever that father figure is in your life - let's remember to appreciate these guys always!

Little Island

Now sitting on the Hudson River, is a new New York City public park called Little Island. The pet project by Barry Diller cost around $260 Million and features 2.4 acres of tree-lined NYC pathways. The idea for Little Island started almost 10 years ago and is highly unusual- as the New York park is entirely privately funded. There's a wide range of food offerings on the island which are all locally sourced. The park is open from 6AM to 1AM daily- be sure to visit!

NYC Mayors Race

After Primary Day voting for Democratic candidates in the race for New York City’s next mayor, Eric Adams has a roughly nine-point lead over the second-place Maya Wiley, and stands about 12 points ahead of Kathryn Garcia.

The standings could still change but overcoming Mr. Adams’s commanding lead would be tough.

One of the topics that stuck with me during the first mayoral debate was a real estate question, of course and I wanted to share it with all of you.

"What is the median sales price for a home or apartment in Brooklyn?” here are the replies:

Sean Donovan - $100,000

Mara Gay - $80,000-$90,000

Dianne Morales - $550,000

Eric Adams - $550,000

Kathryn Garcia - $800,000

5.png

Scott Stringer - $1,000,000

Maya Wiley - $1,800,000

Andrew Yang - $900,000

$900,000 happens to be the correct answer.

On the Republican Front:

Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa cruised to a big victory as the Republican nominee for mayor, easily defeating rival Fernando Mateo.

The general election is on November 2, 2021.

Restrictions Lifted!

The light at the end of the tunnel is finally shining right in front of our faces. Beginning May 19th, 2021 most pandemic-related capacity restrictions in New York and New Jersey were removed. Despite some industry-specific requirements remaining in effect, life around here is almost entirely "normal" again. This means no executive-ordered limits to how many people can be in stores, restaurants, gyms, hair salons, offices, and more!
Also, Thursday March 13th, the CDC announced that fully vaccinated people do not need to wear masks or physically distance, indoors or outdoors. "We have all longed for this moment when we can get back to some sense of normalcy," said the CDC's director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky.

Mother's Day

To all the Mamas and Mama figures out there we hope you had an incredible Mothers Day! Being a mother is the hardest, yet most rewarding job in the world. Whether you are a stay-at-home mom or a working mom, life is constantly a juggling act. The level of multitasking, coordination, effort, care and the brain capacity it takes to raise children and do literally anything else is extraordinary.
To anyone without a mom, this day can be hard. We send our condolences. And to anyone having difficulty becoming a mom, keep your head up - the journey is long but in the end what's meant to be, will be.

Market Update

If you are a New York buyer interested in the $1M to $2M market and are looking for a turn key apartment - you are in a sellers market. Although you are still taking advantage of the discounted prices, the days on the market and number of offers are telling us that there is not enough supply in the NYC market for the demand that is currently out there!

My advice for new yorkers looking to buy a home - if you find what you like, then do not hesitate to pull the trigger. Be prepared to enter a bidding war. Use the right broker to help you solidify a deal.

The Luxury Market Update ($4M+)

Week of 4/12 - 4/19

  • 14 closed sales transactions

  • 5.25% is the average discount from listing price

  • 47 contracts signed

Toddler Birthdays

My daughter, Lyanna turned three years old!

Minnie Mouse was the theme and for a COVID birthday, I have to say it was a success! We rented out Kanga Play Center in Long Island City and invited her school pod. We felt entirely safe, as we saw the staff clean all the areas before and after our party. All the adults wore masks and the kids had a blast. I can feel normal life creeping back in and I am just thankful Lya will have fond memories of her birthday albeit a global pandemic.

COVID BABY

SURPRISE! Our family and our team is growing. I am excited to announce that I am expecting another baby girl September 2021.

BUT WAIT! how am I going to handle the business? The fear of announcing this wonderful news is real. Pregnant woman often get asked, how will you keep working? It is infuriating yet understandable all at the same time. Luckily, I am able to do both! I do understand that every woman's situation is different but to me, it only fuels my motivation to work even more, and do even better.

The year after Lyanna was born was my team's highest grossing year ever and this year is proving to beat that!

With the support of my team and my family helping me, finding your new home or selling your most valuable asset still remains my top priority.
